Wind Harvested Wood
I let the wind decide which trees to fell.
Most years, I don't cut down a single tree.
Harvesting trees that blow over gives me more logs than I can use.
Why Cookies?
Cookie engravings started as a fun experiment.
A way to use a log that was too crooked to be boards.
After seeing the results, I knew I was onto something.
It took a full year of experimenting and iterating to learn how to make these models.
Now, we focus exclusively on end-grain cookie engravings.
Design Process
It requires a very particular art style to get these results, I cannot use an image of a specific dog.
Since there are no colors on a wooden 3d relief, the depth and details are challenging to convey. It takes lots of testing to create a new dog model.
I did my best to make an 'average' representation of each breed.
